Pastor Sivewright

PASTORAL STAFF:
Pastor Gary Sivewright has been Pastor at the Shepherd’s House since Fall 2008.  He is the former Chaplain of Mount Vernon Nazarene University where he also served as a professor of Christian education. Before coming to Mount Vernon, Gary was  Director of Nazarene Youth Inter-national Ministries at Nazarene Head-quarters in Kansas City, Missouri. While at Nazarene Headquarters Gary also served as a curriculum editor, a prog-ram director, and edited two award-winning magazines, Teens Today and Bread. Gary has authored seven books including, co-authoring with Dr. Dan Croy, Parents, Teens and Other Strangers: The ABC’s of Family Communication.

He currently travels with Family Face to Face an interactive communication ministry for families in the church and is a national presenter for HomeWord Parent Seminars.

Pastor Sivewright holds degrees from Southern Nazarene University, Nazarene Theological Seminary and Vanderbilt University. He has been married to his wife Carol for 33 years and they are parents of two grown sons, Jason and Chad and a daughter-in-law, Brittany.

Bennett Briles has been with us at The Shepherd’s House House since Fall 2008 and has been serving as Associate Pastor since Summer 2011. He is a recent graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and grew up in West Virginia, Florida, and Pennsylvania.  He currently works as an Independent Care Provider, and is a contributor for The Galion Inquirer newspaper.
